The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), supports local actors to design and implement innovative projects based on agro-ecological practices ito improve the food and nutritional security in West Africa. This is as part of the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy, ECOWAP, by the Regional Agency for Agriculture and Food (ARAA), and with financial support of the French Development Agency (AFD).
The project to support the agro-ecological transition in West Africa (PATAE) is an integral part of the implementation of West Africa's agricultural policy. It contributes to the efforts of ECOWAS to stimulate the development of innovative practices addressing rainfall concerns and natural resources degradation, particularly in areas affected by the deterioration of farmlands.
